Start by making sure you have a working/installed module you want to show inside any article. We will use screen-shots from the 'Commission Calculator' here.

Note: please click on images to view them full-sized if they are not clear enough.

Go to the 'Extensions' > 'Module Manager':

Then open the module for editing by left-clicking on the 'Module Name'.

Under 'Details' take note of the 'Position:' field. This field is actually editable and included by Joomla core developers to make your life easier.

Normally you would have all the standard template positions i.e. left, top, footer, debug and so on. You are actually able to dynamically add any name you like here by editing the field itself.

Position the mouse cursor over the field and left-click it. You know it is editable when the background of the field changes colour and you get a flashing cursor like this |.

Change the text to 'mod_calc' without the single-quotes ('). This really can be anything you like, but following a convention you like is better and you can avoid naming conflicts with the template positional names already in the drop-down list.

Now 'Save' the module changes and close the module editor.

Go to 'Content' > 'Article Manager' and left-click on the 'Title' name of the article you wish to add the module to.

Inside the editor part of the article designer type in {loadposition mod_calc} where you want the module to appear in your article.

Click 'Save' or 'Apply' at the top-right to save your article's content and refresh your page and you are finished.
